Stupid Bloggers Bragging About Selling Links

If you want to buy text link ads, do not buy links on a blog that brags about how much money they are making selling links. Most likely they are no longer passing Pagerank so you would be buying a worthless link from them in addition to putting your site at risk. It amazes me how some people just don’t get it when it comes to buying and selling text links. I guess that’s one reason I started this blog.

STAY away from these bloggers that don’t care about their advertiser’s success and only care about how much money they are taking from you for their worthless links. Don’t fall victim to their stupidity – if you buy links, you want to do it under the radar and definitely not a blogger that openly brags about selling text links.

Did Matt Cutts Kill the Text Link Business?

He tried his scare tactics. Buy links and you will be punished. Many green webmasters have been scared off never to have their websites found because they want to tow the Google company line. However, the SEO experts know no links = no ranking. I have never seen more interest by MAJOR SEOs in buying text links than at the latest SES San Jose Conference.

Countless $5,000 per month plus text link ad deals were cut by the various link brokers at the conference. In fact, I noticed the text link sellers had the deepest lines of interested attendees. Especially hot - Contextual Text Links. Read more

How to get Contextual Links

I have found it is best to buy links direct from sites that do not normally sell links. As long as it is a natural page, I am not concerned about how many links exist on the page (real web pages have links). Recent results and events have caused me to believe most link broker publisher sites are blocked from passing link juice. Read more

Contextual Text Links – In Context Text Links

Since they are a new concept in text link ad buying, I thought I should define ‘contextual text links’ or ‘in context text links’.

These links are standard search engine friendly HTML based links in the middle of relevant content that both human visitors and search engines can follow. When you buy links, the key is to get links that the search engines perceive as ‘natural’ and follow the link to your site and count the link as a vote to your site.

I should also note the services like Kontera or Intellitxt sell JavaScript based contextual ads - not contextual text links. While you may get some clicks, the search engines completely ignore JavaScript contextual ads as paid ads so they will not help your natural search engine rankings.

Wordpress TextAds is a new plug-in that allows Wordpress bloggers to easily sell sponsored links on their website. Good news? Far from it…

Unfortunately this plug-in gives unscrupulous link sellers yet another way to scam link buyers. Come on fellow WordPress bloggers, are you really that money hungry that you would sell worthless links to your advertisers? Wait… don’t answer that.

Take a look at the example below of what will be showing up on blogs that use this plug in:

Is Selling Text Links Legal?

Believe it or not I hear this question all the time – I think some people think the Google terms of service is the 28th U.S. Constitutional amendment.

Google is all powerful, but I don’t think you need to worry about them raiding your business and shutting down your servers if you make your advertising dollars from a source other then AdSense or spend advertising dollars some other place than AdWords.

So what can Google do to you? Read more

Text Link Buyer Pagerank Obsession

I often am asked “is it better to get one Pagerank 9 or many Pagerank 5s?” Of course the answer is many Pagerank 5s, but this question illustrates the ridiculous focus that buyers have on Pagerank (PR). Here is my personal formula: Many PR Xs > 1 PR X. You can fill in the PR X with whatever number you want; the answer is the same, Read more

Newspaper Text Links

There was a time about 3 years ago when a newspaper text link ad on a site such as http://www.sfgate.com/ would help your link popularity, giving your website a quick boost in the SERPs. Pagerank passing on blocks of sponsored links at the newspaper websites has been stopped long ago, so unless you are hoping for click throughs you are most certainly wasting your money.

Still, newbies continue to buy newspaper website links Read more
