My Buy Sell Links Vision
In case you don’t know who I am besides the current owner of BSL I wanted to introduce myself and let you know the vision and goals of BuySellLinks.
My name is John Lessnau. I have participated on several SEO conference link buying and selling panels over the years. I am the original owner of LinkAdage.com which I started as a Text Link Auction site in 2003. LinkAdage was the first high traffic text link market place, in fact, many of the text link brokers out there are former and current LinkAdage members. I also created a site called LinkXL that allowed publishers to sell links in their existing content. I sold LinkXL a few years ago for a variety of reasons. I also run several non-text link related sites.
This is a generalization, but what I have found over the years is that there are two types of link buyers: Aggressive and Cautious.
Aggressive link buyers want many cheap links to promote their latest website as fast as possible. These buyers usually are not very fussy and will take a link just about anywhere if it cheap enough. On the other hand, cautious link buyers only want high quality links and are willing to pay a premium to have a link on a very nice website – they would rather get 4 great links for $500/mo. rather than 200 low quality links for $100/mo.
I have found that the quick and easy money for people in the link business is to cater to the aggressive link buyers because most any site will do as long as the links are cheap enough. On the other hand, finding and buying quality links in an automated fashion is difficult. I have been told by other link brokers that a high-end link brokerage will not work because it will take too long to build a decent inventory and the volume of link sales will be too low to make it worth the effort.
This is something I am going to prove wrong with BSL. My vision for this site is to have a tight membership group of high quality link sellers and link buyers. It may take 4 – 6 months or so to start rolling but I am positive BSL will get there because I have the connections in the Link Buying world to make it happen.
I ask Advertisers to be patient as the site builds out its inventory. Make sure to log in once a month or so to see how we are progressing. I am sure we will soon have a very nice selection of adverting locations to pick from.
Inactive Publishers, please install our plug-in to your website so we can get your site in our inventory and you can start selling some links. It amazes me the amount of publishers that sign up then never submit a single website. If our plug-in install seems difficult (it’s not if you can work an FTP program), we will do the install for you. All you need to do is create a support ticket and give us some temporary ftp log in ability – we’ll handle the rest.
One side note: To get the site going early on we will be a bit more lenient as to what sites are allowed in the inventory. As the site grows we will continue get more discriminating when reviewing publisher URLs that we can accept. Eventually, only the best of the best will make it in.
Here are some of the things we are working on now behind the scenes:
- An ASP.Net Plug-in (any day now)
- Adding an electronic tax form process
- Improving the support ticket functionality
- Adding live chat support to the site
- Google +1 Sales
- Facebook Like Sales
Anyway, that’s it for now. I want to keep all members (and potential members) involved in the evolution and vision of BSL and that will start with direct communication – so the first step is to follow me on Twitter: @John_Lessnau
