Anchor Text Link Strategy

Using your website’s URL as anchor text is a strategy that most link buyers have never considered. This strategy can give you some tangible ranking advantages if done properly. The best part is you get a text link ad that looks very natural (natural text links are often your site’s URL).

Keep in mind, by using only your site’s URL as anchor text, you are not spoon feeding the search engines the topic of your website. Therefore, you should use this technique only on extremely relevant web pages that link to your site. The best possible scenario is having your URL based text link on a page that actually ranks for “My Money Phrase”. Such a link is pure link juice gold.

Example: You have a site that sells watercolor paintings – http://www.h20colorsales.com. You would want to find a page out there that is about watercolors and buy a link on that page using your URL as the anchor text. Do some searches on watercolor painting and find a secondary page that ranks decently and contact the webmaster and offer to buy a link that is your URL http://www.h20colorsales.com, pay more to make it permanent if possible. Chances are the price will not be very high if it is on an inside page with very low toolbar pagerank.

Now the important part: After this link is in place start pointing other links you buy to this page using your money keywords (buy watercolor paintings, watercolors, buy watercolor art etc…).What begins to occur is the relevant 3rd party page filters those unnatural keyword intensive links and passes the link juice through your URL only anchor text link like a fire hose. The search engines see a watercolor page with a natural URL link pointing to your site and your site gets some amazing, on target, relevant, link juice that will boost your money keyword rankings.

I have tested this technique on a few different sites and have seen a clear uptick in money keyword rankings without any additional links pointing to the test site using the money keyword phrase. There is some cost involved in this strategy, but it is cheaper than creating a relevant satellite site, trying to get that to rank, and then point a few key links from that site to your money making site. Plus, most don’t know the power of a URL text link when used properly. Now you do.
